Simple Process. Clear Result.

CCI REAGENT delivers a qualitative tyrosine screening result in three straightforward steps. No laboratory equipment. No special training. Under five minutes.

01

Sample Collection

Collect a fresh first-morning midstream urine sample in a clean container free from detergent or soap residue. For 48 hours before testing, avoid high-protein foods, tyrosine supplements, and medications that may affect the result — these can cause misleading colour changes.

02

Test Application

Remove the CCI REAGENT ampule from its packaging. Using the included pipette, draw approximately 3 mL of urine and add it to the ampule. Handle the ampule with care — it contains acid. Start timing immediately.

03

Result Reading

After 3–5 minutes, compare the colour of the reaction in the ampule against the 8-shade colour reference scale enclosed in the packaging. Shades 1–3 (white to very pale pink) indicate a negative result. Shades 4–5 (light pink to salmon) indicate mildly elevated tyrosine — consult a physician. Shades 6–8 (mauve to dark red-brown) indicate significantly elevated tyrosine — consult a physician immediately. Do not read the result after 10 minutes — the colour reaction is no longer reliable beyond this point.

Result Interpretation Guide

Colour Interpretation Recommended Action
White to very pale pink (shades 1–3) Negative — urinary tyrosine not elevated No further action from this test. Consult a physician if symptoms persist.
Light pink to salmon-pink (shades 4–5) Positive — urinary tyrosine mildly elevated Consult a physician. Confirmatory clinical testing required.
Mauve to dark red-brown (shades 6–8) Positive — urinary tyrosine significantly elevated Consult a physician immediately. Confirmatory clinical testing required.

Important: Compare the colour of the reaction against the 8-shade colour reference scale enclosed in the packaging. Read the result between 3 and 10 minutes after adding the urine sample. Results read before 3 minutes or after 10 minutes are unreliable and must be discarded. This test provides a screening result only — all results require interpretation by a qualified physician.
